CCOPAB carries out the administrative mobilization of the future MONUSCO Force Commander
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – From 06 to 10 February 2023, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the administrative mobilization of Lieutenant General OTÁVIO RODRIGUES DE MIRANDA FILHO - the future Force Commander of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) - and his support team of six Army soldiers.
The peace mission mobilization activities are designed to provide the administrative preparation of the military personnel selected to be deployed to missions under the aegis of the United Nations (UN). The mobilization encompasses the registration of the personnel medical status through laboratory tests. Also, it provides physical and psychological evaluations, mission-specific instructions and distribution of material to be used in the field.
The phases of the administrative mobilization were carried out at CCOPAB facilities, except for the physical evaluation, carried out by the Brazilian Army Physical Training Research Institute (IPCFEx, acronym in Portuguese). At IPCFEX facilties, there is state-of-the-art equipment for this type of evaluation.
