CCOPAB takes part in ALCOPAZ General Assembly XIV

Buenos Aires (Argentina) – From 22 to 25 November 2022, Colonel VAZ, Commander of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), and Colonel (Ret.) MOLETA, from CCOPAB Doctrine Division, participated in the XIV General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (ALCOPAZ), whose central theme was “The Environment and Peace Operations”.

During the event, at the Plenary Session, CCOPAB Commander delivered a presentation about the main activities carried out by Sergio Vieira de Mello Center in 2022. Brazil has been a full member of ALCOPAZ since its creation in 2008. At the end of the Assembly, Major General (Air Force) FREIXO - Deputy Chief of International Operations of the Ministry of Defense - assumed, on behalf of Brazil, the position of President of ALCOPAZ for the upcoming year, appointing CCOPAB as the Secretariat of the Association.

Also, it was noteworthy the participation of Major (French Army) YVINEC, a CCOPAB Instructor, who was representing the Security and Defence Cooperation Directorate (DCSD) of France, a country participating in ALCOPAZ as a Permanent Observer.
