CCOPAB ends another edition of the UNSO, UNMO and UNPOL Courses
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – From 05 September to 11 November 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the UNSO, UNMO and UNPOL courses, edition 2022.2, training forty-nine future blue helmets from Brazil and from a friendly nation. The Brazilian students were from the three National Armed Forces, in addition to some from the State Police Departments of Bahia, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo. Furthermore, the only foreign student of the course came from Germany.
The course aimed at training military and police officers to perform the roles of UN Staff Officers (UNSO), UN Military Observers (UNMO) and UN Individual Police Officers (IPO), in UN peacekeeping operations.
The courses were entirely delivered in English, following the curriculum defined by the UN Department of Peace Operations, through the programs of the Core Pre-deployment Training Material (CPTM) and the Specialized Training Materials (STM).
