CCOPAB carried out doctrinal awareness visit on Mine Action in Colombia

Bogota (Colombia) - From 3 to 7 October 2022, two instructors and a monitor from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out a doctrinal update visit on Mine Action, in the Republic of Colombia, in compliance with the Plan of Visits and other Activities in Friendly Nations (PVANA, acronym in Portuguese).

The visit covered all sectors and agencies involved with the country's Humanitarian Demining theme, one of the educational pillars of CCOPAB, by means of the Mine Action Course (EACM, acronym in Portuguese), which prepares military personnel to be deployed to Humanitarian Demining missions, under the aegis of international organizations.

At the opportunity, CCOPAB military personnel could visit the Inter-American Monitors Group (GMI, acronym in Portuguese), the Group of Inter-American Technical Advisors in Colombia (GATI-CO, acronym in Portuguese), the Mission of Humanitarian Demining Instructors and Advisors (MIADH-CO, acronym in Portuguese), the International Demining Center (CIDES, acronym in Portuguese), the Integral Action against Antipersonnel Mines – Descontamina Colombia (AICMA, acronym in Portuguese), the Headquarters of United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) and the International Missions Center and Integral Action (CEMAI, acronym in Portuguese) – a military organization similar to the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) in the Colombia Army.
