CCOPAB welcomes delegation after pledges made by Brazil at the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 04 October 2022, The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) hosted an interministerial delegation responsible for tracking the pledges made by Brazil during the Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference in 2021. Among Brazil’s pledges, two of them are related to the allocation of vacancies to foreign military personnel, for the Mine Action Course (EACM, acronym in Portuguese) and the United Nations Protection of Civilian Course (UN PoC), both carried out by CCOPAB.
On the occasion, CCOPAB’s capabilities to prepare military personnel, police officers and civilians, from Brazil or Friendly Nations, assigned to peacekeeping and humanitarian demining operations were presented to the delegation. Subsequently, a visit was made to the facilities where the UN PoC instructions were being held, with the participation of 06 soldiers from the following Friendly Nations: Chile, Ecuador, Mozambique, Peru, Spain and Uruguay.
The delegation was composed of Colonel LOPES CORA, General Coordinator of the International Organizations Section of the Ministry of Defence, Colonel BARROS GUIMARÃES, Coordinator of the Employment Section of the Deputy Chief of International Operations of the Joint Staff Officer of the Armed Forces, Colonel BERNARDO, Head of the Peacekeeping Mission Division of the Land Operations Command, Colonel (Ret.) ROLANT, Head of the Peacekeeping Mission Section of the Brazilian Army Staff Office, Lieutenant Commander (Navy) SCHNEIDER, Coordinator of the International Organizations Section of the Ministry of Defence and Secretary PABLO ROMERO, of the Peace and Security Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
