CCOPAB ends the international training in Humanitarian Demining
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) e Araguari (MG) – From 1 August to 2 September 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out the Mine Action Course (EACM, acronym in Portuguese), which aimed to prepare military personnel to perform the functions of Instructors, Monitors and International Supervisors in Humanitarian Demining missions.
The training was entirely delivered in Spanish, over a period of five weeks. The first two weeks were the E-learning phase and the following three weeks carried out on site. The course was provided by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) supported by the Engineering Instruction Center (CI Eng), located in Araguari (MG). Theoretical and practical instructions were given based on the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS).
Twenty-three military personnel participated in this course edition: 15 from the Brazilian Army, one from the Brazilian Navy and seven from friendly nations (Bolivia, Colombia, Guatemala, Paraguay and São Tomé and Príncipe).
