CCOPAB welcomes the Brazilian Army Chief of Staff

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On 14 August 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) welcomed General VALÉRIO STUMPF TRINDADE, Brazilian Army Chief of Staff (EME, acronym in Portuguese).

The purpose of the visit was to know the capabilities, characteristics and possibilities of CCOPAB, when it comes to the preparation of military, police and civilian personnel, from Brazil and friendly nations, designated to peace operations and humanitarian demining missions; in addition to training the contingents of the Humanitarian and Logistic Task Force (Operation ACOLHIDA) as well as the preparation of troops for the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).

Furthermore, the Brazilian Army Chief of Staff visited CCOPAB facilities, in order to check the proposals included in Sergio Vieira de Mello Project, which aims to provide CCOPAB with facilities that allow the execution of educational activities, regarding the Center's vision of the future - “to be an international reference when it comes to the preparation of human resources for peace operations and humanitarian demining missions.

At the end of the visit, the Brazilian Army Chief of Staff signed CCOPAB’s book of honor. Apart from CCOPAB members, the following authorities took part in the activity: General FLAVIO MARCUS LANCIA BARBOSA, Head of the Army Department of Education and Culture (DECEx, acronym in Portuguese) and Major General FLAVIO ALVARENGA FILHO, Head of the Department of Military Technical Education (DETMil, acronym in Portuguese).
