CCOPAB receives visit of the Deputy Chief of International Operations of the Ministry of Defense
Rio de Janeiro - On April 27, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) received the visit of the Air Force Major General Álvaro Marcelo Alexandre Freixo, Deputy Chief of International Operations of the Ministry of Defense. The purpose of the visit was to show Major General Freixo the activities that are carried out by CCOPAB.
At first, a ceremony was held to honor the Brazilian military, police and civilians who lost their lives in peace operations, when the Deputy Chief of International Operations placed a wreath of flowers in the Haiti Memorial. Following, CCOPAB’s Commander delivered a presentation about the Peace Training Center, and then he offered the General a tour around the facilities, moment in which General Freixo could interact with members of the Assessment, Administration and Logistics, Doctrine, and Education and Training Divisions of CCOPAB. During the visit, the authority also followed the After-Action Review of a peacekeeper that was in the Demobilization phase and who had just returned from a peace mission. The General also attended an instruction from the International Protection of Civilians Protection Course. At the end of the visit, General Freixo signed CCOPAB’s Book of Honor.
