CCOPAB participates in the Initial Coordination Meeting of ALCOPAZ
Rio de Janeiro, RJ. On 03 March 2022, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) took part in a VTC of the 2022 initial coordination meeting of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (ALCOPAZ).
The main topic of the meeeting was: “Climate changes and Peace Operations: Options for planning and executing environment-centered trainings.” During the event, CCOPAB Commander delivered a presentation on “Environmental practices in international missions of the Brazilian Army as well as personnel training regarding environmental topics in peace missions.”
Apart from the presentations carried out by other Centers, the Land Operations Command (COTER) delivered a warm-up presentation on VIKING 22 Exercise, to be held in Brazil at the end of March, and to be attended by several representatives of ALCOPAZ member countries.
Commanders/Directors of Training Centers, from the following countries, participated in the activity: Argentina, Brazil (CCOPAB), Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Currently, Argentina is holding the Pro-tempore presidency of ALCOPAZ; and Brazil (CCOPAB) has been a full member of the Association since 2007.
