CCOPAB carries out Staff Briefing on the final report of the Advisory and Evaluation Visit of the UN Secretariat
Rio de Janeiro. On October 4, 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army training center subordinate to the Board of Technical Military Education (DETMIL, acronym in Portuguese), carried out a Staff Briefing on the final report of the Assessment and Advisory Visit (AAV) conducted by the UN Secretariat from last July 11 to 17 in the cities of Cascavel and São Gabriel.
The purpose of the Staff Briefing was to level knowledge and information among the instructors about the main considerations, conclusions, and recommendations of the Secretariat Team during the AAV. As a result of this leveling, the best practices and lessons learned throughout the training architecture held by CCOPAB were identified, thus allowing the consolidation of concepts and procedures that can be used again in future certifications.
In July of this year, the AAV team evaluated, among other aspects, the training and capacity-building, under the responsibility of Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, of the Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion, the Quick Reaction Force Company (QRF) – units that belong to the 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade; and the Peacekeeping Engineering Company, which belongs to the 4th Engineering Group. In the AAV team's final report, the aforementioned contingents were raised to Level II of the United Nations Peacekeeping Capabilities Readiness System (UNPCRS).
