CCOPAB instructor holds a position in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA)

Bangui (Central African Republic) An instructor from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education, is currently holding a position in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

After a careful selection process under the responsibility of the Brazilian Army Commander’s Office as well as taking part in the pre-deployment training, MAJ Christiane Lima, an officer from the Army technical branch, was designated to integrate MINUSCA from August 2021 to August 2022.

MAJ Christiane Lima is posted at MINUSCA HQ (Bangui/CAR), holding the position of United Nations Staff Officer Military Police G1. Among other responsibilities, she has to:
- Liaise with Logistics Section, Protocol, Public Information, and Medical Units to coordinate the MC’s personnel issues;
- Send timely reports as per her responsibilities;
- Issue ID cards for MINUSCA FHQ; and
- Organize conferences regarding personnel issues.

MINUSCA
The UN Security Council decided to renew the mandate of MINUSCA until 15 November 2021. It has also decided to maintain the mission’s current troop levels of 11,650 military personnel and 2,080 police personnel, tasking them with the strategic objective of creating the political, security and institutional conditions conducive to sustainability reducing the presence of armed groups.
