CCOPAB welcomes the 2nd Technical Deputy-Director of the Brazilian Army Directorate of Health Affairs
Rio de Janeiro (RJ). On 30 August 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - a Brazilian Army Educational Organization, supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education (DETMIL, acronym in Portuguese) - welcomed, for the first time ever, Major General José Oiticica Moreira - the 2nd Technical Deputy-Director of the Brazilian Army Directorate of Health Affairs.
The purpose of the visit was to show the capabilities, characteristics and possibilities of the educational military organization, which is supervised by DETMIL.
After military honors at the main entrance, the 2nd Technical Deputy-Director of the Directorate of Health Affairs took part in the military ceremony (taps were played) paying tribute to those Brazilians fallen in peace missions under the aegis of international organizations (UN and OAS); especially to the ones who lost their lives due to the earthquake in Haiti on 12 January 2010.
During the visit, CCOPAB commander and CCOPAB Health Affairs Advisor delivered an institutional lecture. Afterwards, MG Oiticica had the opportunity to know the educational infrastructure of Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, such as the expertises on practical and theoretical activities regarding first-aid and medical support in peace missions and in unstable environments.
Al last, MG Oiticica signed the Book of Honors of CCOPAB.
