CCOPAB welcomes the Navy, Army, Air Force Defense Attaché from the Thai Embassy
Vila Militar (RJ) - On 16 July 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - a Brazilian Army Educational Organization, supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education, welcomed Colonel Aviator Pirapong Choopakdee - Navy, Army, Air Force Defense Attaché from the Thai Embassy in Brasília.
The goal of the visit was to know the capabilities of CCOPAB, when it comes to the training of military, police and civilian personnel towards peace missions and humanitarian demining missions, as well as know what teaching methodology is used (training architecture) in the the teaching and learning process. On that occasion, LTC (Air Force) Rodrigo Alves dos Santos - CCOPAB Deputy Commander and LTC (Ret.) Carlos Alberto Moraes Cavalcanti, from the Doctrine Division, both delivered an institutional lecture.
LTC Fragni, foreign instructor from Argentina, representing the the Division of Education and Training, coordinated a simulated exercise carried by CCOPAB during the Civil-Military Coordination Course (natural disaster and humanitarian aid). After that, the Attaché visited the monuments to honour Brazilians who died in peace missions, as those fallen due to the earthquake in Haiti (MINUSTAH). At the end of the visit, Colonel Aviator Pirapong signed CCOPAB’s book of honour and also received an institutional token from Sergio Vieira de Mello Center.
The visit of the Thai Attaché, former peacekeeper in United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT/2004) and in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS/2006), strengthens the international characteristic of CCOPAB, broadening the integration between Brazil and Thailand in UN peace missions.
