CCOPAB Mobile Training Team delivers instructions to train Aviation Units within UNPCRS

Manaus (AM) - From 17 to 28 May 2021, the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education, delivered the Training Instructions for Aviation Units, offered by the Air Force Command, regarding the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).

The activity, contributing towards the certification of military personnel from Aviation Units, was developed in two phases:
- during the first week, topics of the Core Pre-Deployment Training Material, from the Integrated Training Service of the UN Department of Peace Operations, were discussed; and
- In the second week, the MTT covered the topics of the Specialized Training Material for Military Aviation Units (UN MAU STM 2018). Additionally, students were also familiarized with topics of the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions Military Aviation Unit Manual, 2021.

In this edition, 38 soldiers from the following Aviation Units of the Brazilian Air Force took part in the training:
- 1st/ 3rd Aviation Group (Scorpion Squadron), headquartered in Boa Vista-RR;
- 2nd/ 3rd Aviation Group (Griffin Squadron), headquartered in Porto Velho-RO;
- 1st/ 9th Aviation Group (Macaw Squadron), headquartered in Manaus-AM;
- 7th/ 8th Aviation Group (Harpy Eagle Squadron), headquartered in Manaus-AM;
- 7th Air Transportation Group, headquartered in Manaus-AM;
- Wing VIII, headquartered in Manaus-AM; and
- Manaus (AM) Defense and Security Group.

Apart from CCOPAB and Brazilian Air Force (BAF) instructors, it is important to highlight the presentation, via VTC, of the Bangladesh Aviation Unit Commander (BANAIR), in MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the DR Congo), with the following theme: The Air Force tasks of BANAIR in MONUSCO.

As a result of the 2017 successful inspection by UN Department of Peace Operations (Assessment and Advisory Visit/AAV), the following units of the Brazilian Air Force Command were classified as Level II within UNPCRS: Attack Aircraft (A-29); Transportation Aircraft (C-105); and Rotary-Wing Aircraft (H-60).
