CCOPAB Mobile Training Team delivers the UN Civil-Military Coordination Course in the context of UNPCRS

Porto Alegre (RS) - From 17 to 21 May 2021, the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education, carried out the UN Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC), contributing towards the training of troops from the 4 Engineering Group, in the Southern Military Command.

The activity covered the UN DPO CIMIC doctrine (Core Pre-Deployment Training Material and Specialized Training Materials), so that participants can hold UN Civil Affairs System related positions.

Apart from CCOPAB instructors (MTT), it is important to highlight the participation of the following authorities:
- Mr. Gabriel Valladares, from the International Committee of the Red Cross;
- Dr. Eduarda Hamann, General Coordinator of the Brazilian Research Network on Peace Operations (REBRAPAZ); and
- Mrs. Silvia Corradi Sander, Liaison Officer from UNHCR.

The 4 Engineering Group is the Preparation Coordinator of the Eng Coy (PKF) at the service of the United Nations Peacekeeping Capabalities Readiness System (UNPCRS).

By having group debates and pratical exercises, ten soldiers could benefit from the chance of interacting in a multidimensional environment, as we find in peace operations.
