CCOPAB takes part in the Inter-American Defense Board International Seminar (Lessons Learned from Humanitarian Demining Operations)

Rio de Janeiro (RJ). On 5 May 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization under the supervision of the Department of Military Technical Education, took part in the Inter-American Defense Board International Seminar (IADB/OAS) whose theme was Lecciones Aprendidas en Desminado Humanitário.

During the activity, among other important participations, it is essential to highlight the presentation of LTG Antonio CÉSAR Alves Rocha, Deputy-Chief of the Engineering and Construction Department (DEC, acronym in Portuguese) and former Chief of the Assistance Mission for Mine Clearance in Central America (MARMINCA), and of the Brazilian Army Colonel (Corps of Engineers) CLEBER Machado Arruda, Chief of the Inter-American Monitor Group in Colombia (GMI-CO/OAS).

The seminar decisively contributed towards the training improvement of CCOPAB instructors and monitors who plan, coordinate and carry out the Mine Action course yearly.

According to IADB, representatives from Training Centers, Civil and Military Academic Institutions, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations and other civilian and military experts attended the event.
