CCOPAB participates in the 25th Annual Conference of the IAPTC
Lima (Peru) - From October 7th to 11th, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), represented by its Commander, COL Marco Antônio Estevão Machado, as well as LT COL (Air Force) Rogério Ayres Vasconcellos (Doctrine Division Chief) and MAJ (Military Police) Alexandre Grevy Magacho Barcellos (Education and Training Division Instructor) participated in the 25th Annual Conference of the IAPTC, held in Lima, Peru.
The objective of the IAPTC is to facilitate communication and exchange of information, as well as to disseminate best practices in education and training related to peace operations, carried out under the aegis of the UN.
In 2019, the IAPTC theme was "Preparing for effective peace operations: renewing commitment and strengthening partnerships". The conference was attended by military, police, and civilian experts dedicated to training, education, and learning in peacekeeping operations from 60 countries and 100 organizations from five continents.
The Brazilian delegation was headed by Division General Kleber Nunes Vasconcellos, Head of Peace Missions, Aviation and IGPM of COTER. Military personnel from the Ministry of Defense, the Brazilian Navy, the Brazilian Air Force, the Army's General Staff and military police officers also participated. The Brazilian Peace Operations Research Network was represented by Professor Karla Pinhel Ribeiro (UNICURITIBA).
As speakers, Brazil was represented by Division General Elias Rodrigues Martins Filho, Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), as well as Eduarda Hamann, CCOPAB's partner in REBRAPAZ, both by videoconference. MAJ Barcellos, CCOPAB instructor, participated as a speaker in the workshop on "Theory of Applied Change in Peacebuilding Processes".
