Handover Ceremony at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center

Vila Militar - Rio de Janeiro – On March 02, Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira handed over the command of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) to Colonel Marco Antônio Estevão Machado. The ceremony was headed by Lieutenant General Mauro Sinott Lopes, Commander of the 1st Army Division.

 

The following authorities were present: Lieutenant General André Luis Novaes Miranda, Director of the Department of High Military Education; Major General Anísio David de Oliveira Júnior, Chief Operations Officer of the Land Operations Command and General Inspector of the Brazilian Army Police; and Major General Ramon Marçal da Silva, Commander of the School Support Group and of the 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade. Relatives of the former commander and of the current one, along with Commanders of military units of Rio de Janeiro, members of the Brazilian Navy and of the Air Force, officers of Friendly Nations, civilian authorities and former members of CCOPAB, such as Colonel (retired) Pedro Aurélio de Pessoa, former commander of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center attended the event as well.

 

Before the handover ceremony, there was the unveiling of the picture of the substituted commander, at the Commanders’ Photo Gallery. The troops of the Training Center paraded to welcome their new commander.
