CCOPAB receives instructions on Central African Republic

On January 30 and 31, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) received the visit of the French Army officer, Captain Yoann Yvinec, who came to Brazil to share his operational knowledge on the French mission in Central African Republic (CAR) and on the specific characteristics of the local culture. Officers and NCOs of CCOPAB and of the Eastern Training Center (CA-LESTE, acronym in Portuguese) were the target audience of the lectures as they will be directly employed in the training of personnel who are likely to be deployed to CAR.

Different topics were covered, such as: the African geopolitics and its regional context; a presentation about CAR: its human and physical geography; its History, security status and existing forces; a presentation about MINUSCA; some practical advice; and Bambari Task Force: a briefing of the Chief of the General Staff (video).
