CCOPAB receives foreign instructors for the 3rd phase of the Military Experts on Mission Course (MEoM)

From 29 October to 23 November, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, offers the 3rd phase of the Military Experts on Mission Course (MEoM). The MEoM aims at preparing military and police personnel to be deployed in UN PKOs as: Staff Officers, Military Observers and UNPOL.

For MEoM 3rd phase, CCOPAB received the following foreign guest instructors: COL Carol Paraniak (Sweden); COL Temesgen Gidore (Ethiopia); LTC Dierk Nielsen (Germany); LTC Roland Meister (Switzerland); LTC Axel Schönborn (Germany); LTC Jorge Barros (Argentina); MAJ Shawn Cooper (Canada); and CPT Mike Stevens (UK). The aforementioned foreign officers have boosted the team of foreign instructors posted to CCOPAB: LTC Mouezy (France); LTC Fraqueli (Argentina); MAJ Weber (Chile); and SGM Zuccolo (Argentina).

The foreign officers’ experience in PKOs significantly contribute to a better training course at CCOPAB. After the 2nd phase (language skills) of MEoM Course, the presence of foreign instructors provide students with the possibility to keep developing their linguistic skills; they also help the Center to create a multinational environment likely to be found in mission areas.
