CCOPAB takes part in Workshop in Uruguay

Montevideo (Uruguay) - From 21 to 25 October, CCOPAB participated in the 3rd Regional Workshop “Making Peace Operations More Effective”, carried out at the Uruguayan Peace Operations School (ENOPU, acronym in Spanish) and supported by the Small Arms Survey (SAS).

LTC (Ret) Cavalcanti and CPT Tupinambá, both from CCOPAB, were two out of the three Brazilian guests at the event. It is important to highlight the presence of General Carlos Alberto dos Santos Cruz, a former Force Commander in UN missions in Haiti (MINUSTAH) and Congo (MONUSCO).

The project “Making Peace Operations More Effective - MPOME”, from the Small Arms Survey, contributes to the reduction of violence and insecurity due to the illegal proliferation of arms in conflict zones. To reach the desired end state, the project manages to build a collaborative agenda, along with the UN, regional organizations and States, in order to lower the loss of lethal materiel in peacekeeping operations.
