CCOPAB’s instructor cooperates in Training Center in Africa

Ethiopia – The parternship between Brazil and Ethiopia aims at the interchange of knowledge in peace operations. In order to achieve this goal, Major Zuma, instructor at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) has been participating in the activities of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Peace Support Training Center (FDRE - PSTC) since last September 15.

The Brazilian major will spend three months in Africa and in the meantime, based on the doctrines of the United Nations and of the African Union, he has to develop a new course syllabus for the Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC) and for the United Nations Staff Officer Course (UNSO). By means of this new syllabus, the FDRE-PSTC will be able to carry out pilot courses. Moreover, Major Zuma will also take part in researches, seminars and academic activities as requested by the host Peace Support Center.

Located in Adis Abeba, the FDRE-PSTC was opened in 2015 and has partnerships with Denmark, France, Japan, United Kingdom, USA, Germany and Turkey. Since its creation, the Center has trained over 700 personnel who attended courses such as CIMIC, Staff Officer, Military Observer, Protection of Civilians, Conflict Prevention, among others.
