Preparatory Course for Journalists 2012/2 – 1st Day
The second Preparatory Course for Journalists in Conflict Areas in 2012 started on 23 of July with the presence of CCOPAB's Commander Colonel Luiz Fernando Estorilho Baganha. It gathered journalists from several media and aimed at preparing those professionals by means of practical and theoretical classes through the five-day duration of the course.
The first day of the course started with the visit by the participants to the facilities of Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Center which was followed by the lecture of Mr. Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto Neiva Barcellos, who presented the work accomplished by the Center of Social Communication of the Brazilian Army. LTG Barcellos talked about topics such as the participation of Brazil in Peacekeeping Operations and historical contributions by the media in armed conflicts.
