CCOPAB celebrates the International Day of UN Peacekeepers
The Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center took part in the celebrations of the International Day of Peacekeepers on June 1, 2012, in the Campo de Parada Brigadeiro Sampaio. Major General Carlos Maurício Barroso Sarmento, GUEs Commander/ 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade (Es) headed the ceremony in which military personnel from different units from the Vila Militar Garrison, from the Brazilian Ex-Combatants Association and from the Members of the SUEZ Battalion Association also participated.
On this day, some officers and sergeants from this Center were awarded the "Missão de Paz" Medal, from the SUEZ Battalion/RJ.
