RESDAL visit to CCOPAB
On May 10, 2012, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) hosted Ms. Renata Giannini, the main researcher of Project "A better and shared Latin American focus on gender perspective in peacekeeping operations according to Resolutions 1325 and 1820 from the UN Security Council", developed by the Latin American Security and Defence Network (acronym in Portuguese: RESDAL). The visit aimed at collecting data about Brazil's important contribution in peacekeeping missions focusing principally in the role of civilians' protection. The researcher met with CCOPAB's Commander COL Baganha, CCOPAB's Deputy Commander Marines CDR Leite, Reserve LTC Cavalcanti (Doctrine Division Assistant), CPT Shoji (CIMIC Officer) and CPT PM Emerson (Police Officer from the state of Santa Catarina). The topics brought about in that occasion dealt with CCOPAB's Training Program for peacekeeping operations and the seminars occurred during the period 2011-2012.
