Epaulette Change in CCOPAB

On May 02, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) carried out the promotion ceremony of its Deputy Commander, Captain (Marines) Alexandre ABALLO Nunes, whose promotion took place according to Brazilian Navy´s Directive No. 137 issued on April 28 of this year. At that moment, the Commander of the Center, Colonel Pedro Aurélio de PESSÔA, invited Captain LUCIANI de Souza Aballo Nunes, the Deputy Commander´s wife, to participate in the epaulette change.

CCOPAB in a Citizen Action

On April 30, 2011 CCOPAB attended the social activities headed by the Assistance Office for Lawyers of the State of Rio de Janeiro (acronym in Portuguese: CAARJ/OAB) in the city of Teresópolis, State of Rio de Janeiro. The event had the musical participations of children and elders under the coordination of 3rd SG Musician Alexandre Sérgio from CCOPAB. It was an opportunity for the enhancement of music as a pacifying tool for people´s perfect integration

International Band on CCOPAB´s Cultural Day

11_FOTO OFICIAL DO EVENTO The Cultural Day of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) was celebrated on April 19 at the facilities of the Military Club in Vila Militar (acronym in Portuguese: CMVM), which were kindly yielded to CCOPAB for this purpose. During the activity, Sound of Peace Band introduced `Banda Integração`, which is a band made up by young students from public schools of the city of Niterói for the opening presentation of the event. Then CPL Fábio, the drummer of the Sound of Peace Band and 2 LT Edésio Gomes, a saxophone player of the 1st Motorized Infantry Battalion performed their solo presentations. After that, renowned Big Band Interfak from Belgium presented its performance.

CCOPAB´s participation in the celebration of the Day of the Brazilian Army at the War College (acronym in Portuguese: ESG)

DSC09700On April 14, 2011, CCOPAB participated in the activities that celebrated the Day of the Brazilian Army at the War College (acronym in Portuguese: ESG), with the exhibition of audio visual material, books and equipment usually used in UN´s Peacekeeping Operations. The exhibition counted on the participation of military personnel from the Brazilian Navy, the Brazilian Army and the Brazilian Air Force who are effectively members of CCOPAB, thus enhancing the perfect integration among the armed forces in this military unit.

Second Phase of the 2011-1 Course for Peacekeeping Operations (acronym in Portuguese: EPMP)

DSC_0102After a one-month period of intensive training thoroughly taught in English and specifically focused on Peacekeeping Operations, which took place in the Center for Personnel Studies (acronym in Portuguese: CEP), the second phase of the 2011-1 Course for Peacekeeping Operations (acronym in Portuguese: EPMP) started on April 04, 2011 at the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB), with a previewed end on April 29.

Senior Leaders Seminar - fifth day

DSC_0215The fifth day was marked by the closing of the event; it took place in CEP and started at 9:00. Groups A and B presented their Study Cases. After that, the participants went up to Leme Fort so that the official picture of the event could be taken, having the beautiful view of the city of Rio de Janeiro as the photo landscape.
