A platoon representing CCOPAB during the 24th edition of the Marines Corps Race

A detachment of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), consisting of twenty three military personnel, including the Deputy Commander and the most junior soldier, took part in the 24th Edition of the Marines Corps Race, which took place at Aterro do Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.

This traditional competition of the Brazilian Navy, with distances ranging from 5 to 10 km and several other modalities, is part of the Race Calendar of Rio de Janeiro. The group from CCOPAB competed in the platoon race modality against 46 groups representing Military Units of the Brazilian Navy. This competition had the strong presence of civilian and military runners.

Although CCOPAB has a great deal of activities, which made it very hard to train, the mentioned detachment, full of determination and dedication, completed the 10 kilometers in 43’07”, arriving in 7th place.

Having participated for the first time, CCOPAB showed the great esprit de corps and integration of this center.
