CCOPAB hosts the 2nd edition of the survival course for Vale employees
From 21 to 24 of June, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) hosted the second edition of the Survival Course in Hostile Environment for employees of Vale Company.
The course aimed mainly at teaching basic survival techniques in several types of environment where Vale has employees developing its projects.
In order for its objective to be thoroughly accomplished, the course was divided into two parts, each one of them lasting two days. The first part focused on rural areas, whereas the second part was centered at urban areas.
The employees attended several instructions concerning survival, such as: plant and animal origin foods, snakes, improvised shelters, water procurement and fire craft, orientation, ammunition effects in the human body, and first aid.
Besides the instructors from CCOPAB, the course also counted on the participation of invited instructors from 21 GAC, from Instituto Vital Brazil and from the Military Police of the State of São Paulo.
