International Band on CCOPAB´s Cultural Day

The Cultural Day of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) was celebrated on April 19 at the facilities of the Military Club in Vila Militar (acronym in Portuguese: CMVM), which were kindly yielded to CCOPAB for this purpose. During the activity, Sound of Peace Band introduced `Banda Integração`, which is a band made up by young students from public schools of the city of Niterói for the opening presentation of the event. Then CPL Fábio, the drummer of the Sound of Peace Band and 2 LT Edésio Gomes, a saxophone player of the 1st Motorized Infantry Battalion performed their solo presentations. After that, renowned Big Band Interfak from Belgium presented its performance.

The most important moment of the concert took place at the end of the event, when Banda Integração, Sound of Peace Band and Belgian Big Band Interfak made an integrated presentation of the song “Friends Forever”. The presentation´s audience was focused on children from local schools and counted on the presences of illustrious Lieutenant General Mr. Oswaldo de Jesus Ferreira, Commander of the Army´s 1st Division, Mr. Armando M. Assunção, Superintendent of the Assistance Office for Lawyers of the State of Rio de Janeiro (acronym in Portuguese: CAARJ/OAB), Colonel (Reserve/1) Mr. Sinval Silva Filho, President of the Military Club in Vila Militar (acronym in Portuguese: CMVM), Ms. Maria de Assumpção Macedo de Pessôa, mother of the Commander of CCOPAB and Ms. Veronique Collage, Consulate Official and Cultural Attachée of the Consulate of Belgium, among other authorities who were prestigiously present at the concert.

Colonel Pedro Aurélio de Pessôa, Commander of CCOPAB, made a speech in which he mentioned the names of the military personnel who had received time-in-service medals during the Parade by the Army´s 1st Division, and enhanced the importance of child education for the future of the country.
