UN Team plants trees
Barra do Ribeiro City/Brazil - On July 15, the United Nations (UN) Inspection Team planted tree seedlings in an Environmental Compensation Area located in a stretch of Guaíba Operation - Duplication Work of BR-116 Highway.
The work has been carried out by members of the Peace Force Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY) of the 4th Engineering Group, an activity included in the schedule of the UN Assessment and Advisory Visit (AAV) for the ascension of the Engineering Company to Level 2 of the Peacekeeping Capabilities Readiness System (UNPCRS).
The activity is aimed at demonstrating the Brazilian commitment to environmentally responsible management and solutions through the Environmental Policy of the UN Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative.
