CCOPAB holds the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course for the 25th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 28 July, the closing ceremony of the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course (EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese) was held at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB). The attendees were officers from the Brazilian Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) who will take part in BRABAT/BRAENGCOY 25.
The two-week course emphasized the preparation to command peacekeeping subunits and platoons. The students were given instructions of Peace Operations doctrine, and also had controlled practice to consolidate the learning. Gender issues related to Peacekeeping operations, Rules of Engagement, Less Lethal Weapons and Progression Techniques in Urban Areas were some of the topics addressed in the course.
