CCOPAB instructors on Frigate Liberal

From August 7 to 11, a Mobile Training Team from CCOPAB, composed of one military person from the Brazilian Navy and three from the Brazilian Army, is giving instructions about the UN doctrine on Frigate 'Liberal'. The vessel is on its way to Lebanon, to join the MTF (Maritime Task Force) of UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon).

These instructions are part of the crew preparation of the Frigate, which will be the Flagship of UNIFIL's MTF, a UN Peace mission created in 1978. The MTF was created in 2006 and it has been commanded by an Admiral of the Brazilian Navy since 2011. The mission of the Task Force is to conduct Maritime Interdiction Operations to prevent unauthorized entry of weapons into the country, and to contribute to the training of Lebanese Armed Forces.

The Maritime Task Force has not only a frigate from the Brazilian Navy, but also vessels from Germany, Bangladesh, Greece, Indonesia and Turkey.
