On February 24, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB – acronym in Portuguese) sent a group of 13 military personnel to carry out the first reconnaissance in the region of Marabá – Pará, where the 20th Contingent of the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT-20) is located.
On February 26, the Logistics Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces (EMCFA – acronym in Portuguese), Admiral Ademir Sobrinho, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB). He was welcomed by the 1st Army Division Commander, Lieutenant General José Alberto da Costa Abreu. At this opportunity, CCOPAB's Deputy Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Grineberg (Air Force) and the Chief of the Doctrine Division, Commander (Navy) Sérvio, talked about the organization, the mission and the works developed by this Center.
From 17 to 21 February, the students of the course for Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders [EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese] of the 20th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti [20 CONTBRAS, acronym in Portuguese] received several trainings such as foot patrol, mechanized patrol, cordon, search and investment operations, security and protection of non-military personnel, negotiation etc.
On 21 February, CCOPAB [acronym in Portuguese] carried out the closing ceremony of the course.
Between February 19 and 21, an entourage of foreign researchers, from different European higher education institutions, interested in Peace Operations, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) and observed the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCOSUPEL).
On 20 February, Dr. Rebecca Bill Chávez, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense of Western Hemisphere, US Department of Defense, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center [CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese]. Dr. Rebecca was welcomed by the Commander of CCOPAB, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes.
On 17 February 14, CCOPAB started the second edition of the Course on Logistics and Reimbursement in PKOs. 40 military personnel from the Brazilian Armed Forces - Navy, Army and Air Force - started this course.
