CCOPAB pays respect to and honors the 18 fallen heroes of the earthquake in Haiti

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center paid respect to the 18 Brazilian Army soldiers, former members of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), who, on 12 January 2010, had their lives cut short due to the 7.0 Richter earthquake in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.

Eleven years after that tragic natural catastrophe, we celebrate the memories of those national heroes who lost their lives in the service of UN Peacekeeping Operations. During the parade, a list with names of fallen military personnel was read, and in sequence, taps was played.

Sticking to the protocols to fight against Covid-19, there was a small number of CCOPAB representatives at the parade (staff from the Brazilian Army, Brazilian Navy, Brazilian Air Force and State Police).
